There are three types of gasket base material, namely metal, non-metal and half metal. Metal gaskets made of copper, aluminum or brass. Here are the types of gaskets sold in the market:
- Rubber Gaskets are a type of gasket made from rubber sheets or rubber sheets, such as neoprene, nitrile, fluorocarbon, red rubber, aflas and silicone.
- Viton Gaskets are often used for systems where there are chemicals that are acidic or basic, hydrocarbons and oils, both vegetable and animal.
- PTFE Gasket (Polytetrafluoroethylene) Material is the most widely known gasket, because it is multi-functional. Teflon has good resistance to various chemicals, including hydrogen peroxide.
- Graphite Gasket is a type of gasket that is resistant to heat.
- EPDM Gasket (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer (M-class) rubber) is a type of gasket made from EPDM, this material is resistant to ozone, Ultra Violet rays, natural oils and various types of chemicals.
